An American has had his “mind blown” by what he claims is a Tesco hack. For many Brits, the Meal Deal is not just a sales tactic, but it’s a way of life.
You buy a sandwich, snack and drink, pay a whopping £3.60 and leave feeling like you’ve won the lunch lottery. And while for many the meal deal is part of the UK’s supermarket furniture, for one American . . . it was a wild experience.
Instagrammer and “Timothée Chalamet look-a-like” Miles Mitchell posted a video of himself on-line shopping for a meal deal and having his thoughts blown purchase it.
He simply could not consider it(Image: Instagram/miles.mitchell27)
His meal of choice consisted of a Tesco-own brand sausage, bacon and egg triple, a Naked-brand rainbow machine-flavoured drink, which he claimed is around $5 in the US, and a Kind dark chocolate, nuts and sea salt bar.
This, once more, blew his thoughts and captioned the video: “Crazy London Travel Hack – making this video because I genuinely was so shocked that this was a thing when I lived in London.
“Especially coming from NYC and being told London is also a very expensive city. While that still is true I was surprised learning that there are easily accessible options for people to afford food.
“To my knowledge NYC doesn’t offer anything like this. All of my friends would make fun of me because I would not shut up about this for like 2 weeks straight.”

As would be expected, Brits took to the comments to fill them with positivity and genuine surprise . . . OK, he was ridiculed.
One wrote: “If you like a meal deal wait til you hear about free healthcare.” And a second commented: “If you like a meal deal, you’ll absolutely love not getting shot if you visit a school.”
A third wrote: “If you like this, you’ll love that our public toilets don’t have huge gaps in the stalls.”
And a fourth merely questioned: “Why Americans so impressed with Tesco?!”
