A bustling McDonald’s in the heart of Derbyshire was thrown into utter chaos on Thursday morning after an electric car ploughed into its front. The scene that unfolded left onlookersin shock as they gathered outside the Long Eaton branch after a white Skoda Enyaq crashed into the building.
The restaurant suffered significant damage to its main entrance and surrounding windows, with shards of glass scattered across the floor. The barriers between the pavement and the road seem to have been completely destroyed.
No one was significantly injured when the scenes unfolded.

A spokesperson for Derbyshire Police commented on the unfolding situation: “We acquired experiences of a automobile having crashed right into a constructing in Waverley Street, Long Eaton at round 10.50am on Thursday.”
They added: “There are not any experiences of any severe accidents. Structural engineers are attending the location to evaluate the harm – and restoration of the car is ongoing.”
The police made no touch upon the motive force.

Pictures from the scene showed a white electric Skoda Enyaq after a collision with the northwest entrance of the McDonald’s, which opened its doors in November 2020. Extensive damage to the main entrance and surrounding windows at the restaurant, as well as broken glass on the floor, were also seen.
The restaurant, which opened in November 2020, shares a large car park with the neighbouring Tesco Extra store and is located opposite a KFC, a Farmfoods and a Tesco petrol station.
