Hundreds have taken to the streets of Sheffield in a poignant march honouring a 15-year-old lad who was tragically stabbed to death at school. Young Harvey lost his life on Monday after being attacked with a knife at All Saints Catholic School on Granville Road.
Since the heartbreaking incident, an outpouring of grief has seen a sea of flowers and heartfelt notes left outside the school gates. A passionate Sheffield United fan, Harvey’s memory has been honoured with floral offerings, footie shirts, scarves, and touching messages laid outside the Bramall Lane stadium.
One particularly moving tribute penned on a Sheffield United shirt simply states: “RIP Harvey. Forever in our hearts.”

On Saturday afternoon, Harvey’s mates, fellow Blades supporters, and those touched by the tragedy gathered at Sheffield Town Hall before marching to the ground for the 3pm kick-off against Portsmouth. The crowd donned red and white, some clutching balloons of the same colours, while banners were held aloft.
A striking black and white banner featuring Harvey’s image within the Sheffield United crest declared: “Lives not knives. It’s not okay.”, studies the Mirror.

Backing the march is Sheffield’s anti-knife crime charity Always An Alternative. Earlier that day, local churches hosted services in remembrance of the young lad.
Bishop Ralph Heskett called for St Marie’s Cathedral in central Sheffield to open for private prayer, while a mass took place at St Joseph’s church in Handsworth.
Mark McManus, parish priest at St Joseph’s, spoke out following a tragic loss, saying: “Harvey was a former pupil of St Joseph’s Academy and, together with the members of our neighborhood who attend All Saints High School, many could have been affected by his dying – some very carefully.”

Grief struck the neighbourhood as Harvey’s mother Caroline and family visited the school where tributes were laid for the much-loved student. Heart-wrenchingly, after their visit, they said: “We are totally heartbroken on the lack of our lovely boy, ‘Harvey Goose’. Our lives are devastated and can by no means be the identical once more.”
They continued: “We have misplaced a beloved son, brother, grandson, cousin, nephew and most significantly, a finest pal to all. Harvey might be endlessly recognized for being a caring, loving and humorous younger man. At this troublesome time we ask you to please respect our privateness as we grieve as a household.”
A 15-year-old boy, whose id is protected by regulation, has been charged with Harvey’s homicide in addition to affray and possession of a deadly blade.

He faced Sheffield Crown Court on Thursday, accused of taking Harvey’s life. The court heard Harvey was fatally stabbed in the heart with a hunting knife on Monday around midday, in what was described as a “tragic” incident.
The Honorable Recorder of Sheffield Jeremy Richardson KC, ordered the teen into youth detention. The Judge, after instructing the defendant to stand, stated: “I’m decided you’ll be tried pretty…your trial goes to happen on the finish of June by way of to July.”
The trial is anticipated to final 4 weeks.
