Stephen Holmes was severely injured in an assault on Monday
A person who died days after a severe assault in County Tyrone was a household man who was “everybody’s friend”, his sister has mentioned.
A homicide investigation has been launched after Stephen Holmes, 31, was attacked at a home in Beechmount Village, Strabane, within the early hours of Monday.
The father of two had been in a crucial situation in hospital following the assault and died from his accidents on Saturday morning.
His sister Zara mentioned he was an “easy going, gentle soul” who was properly favored.
Speaking to BBC News NI, Mr Holmes’ sister mentioned he was the “baby of the house and wanted nothing for nothing”.
“He was everybody’s friend and loved his family,” she added.

Mr Holmes was initially taken to Altnagelvin Hospital in Londonderry for his accidents earlier than being transferred to the Royal Victoria Hospital in Belfast.
Cllr Paul Gallagher mentioned that Mr Holmes died in “very tragic circumstances” and that his dying had been “devastating” for the household.
He added the assault had taken place in a newly-built property, and that neighbours and the encircling group had been left in shock.
Charges being reviewed
On Thursday, a 31-year-old man appeared in courtroom on plenty of expenses associated to the assault, together with inflicting grievous bodily hurt with intent.
Dylan McCrossan, of Beechmount Village, appeared through video-link earlier than Strabane Magistrates’ Court the place he confirmed his id.

He was remanded into custody.
On Saturday, police mentioned the fees regarding Mr McCrossan will now be reviewed by officers.
